Protection and security

Society’s demands for protection and security are increasing in line with changes in the threats facing society. With over 350 years experience of working with protected facilities, the Swedish Fortifications Agency knows a thing or two about protection.  

Our extensive experience and unique know-how in protection and security helped persuade the Swedish government to expand our role in 2008. We are now part of Sweden’s emergency management planning that addresses protection of the national infrastructure. We are also required to support civil society through the provision of security technology and security expertise. On the international stage, we also work closely with countries in Europe, North America and Asia today.
